As we step into a brand new year, it’s time to shake things up! Martial Arts isn’t just about punches, kicks and perfecting your form, it’s a journey of growth, discovery and stepping out of your comfort zone. So, why not make this year the one where you try something new and exciting? Here’s your ultimate Martial Arts Bucket List for 2025. Let’s make it a year to remember!

1. Learn a New Style

Ever been curious about a Martial Art you’ve never tried? If you practice Karate, why not give Brazilian Jiu Jitsu a go? Taekwondo practitioners might enjoy exploring Kung Fu. Expanding your knowledge of different styles can deepen your understanding of Martial Arts as a whole and who knows, you might find a new favourite!

2. Train in a Traditional Dojo or Gym Abroad

If you’ve ever dreamed of training Muay Thai in Thailand, Karate in Okinawa or Judo in Japan, this is your year to plan that trip! Immersing yourself in the culture where your art originated is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

3. Earn Your Next Belt

Set your sights on that next belt level and commit to earning it this year. Whether it’s a yellow belt, black belt or anything in between, the journey will challenge and reward you in ways you can’t imagine.

4. Participate in a Competition

Push yourself by entering a local, regional or even international tournament. Competing is a great way to test your skills, learn from others and build confidence. Remember, it’s not just about winning, it’s about growing as a Martial Artist.

5. Break a Board (or a Few!)

Nothing says ‘I’ve got this’ like breaking a board (or bricks, if you’re feeling adventurous). It’s not just about strength, it’s about focus, technique and belief in yourself.

6. Try a Training Weapon

Always wanted to wield a katana, nunchaku or bo staff? Many Martial Arts incorporate weapons training. Find a class or seminar to safely learn the basics and channel your inner warrior.

7. Teach or Mentor Someone

Share your knowledge by teaching a beginner or mentoring someone on their Martial Arts journey. You’ll be surprised how much you learn about your own practice when you teach others.

8. Host or Attend a Martial Arts Movie Night

Gather your dojo friends and watch classics like Enter the Dragon, The Karate Kid, Ip Man or even, Kung Fu Panda. It’s a fun way to bond and get inspired by the cinematic side of Martial Arts.

9. Train for a Charity Event

Combine your passion for Martial Arts with giving back. Participate in a Martial Arts demo, charity tournament or even a ‘100 kicks challenge’ to raise funds for a good cause.

10. Focus on Mind-Body Connection

This year, deepen your practice by exploring the mental and spiritual aspects of Martial Arts. Try meditation, Tai Chi or mindfulness techniques to enhance your focus and find balance both on and off the mat.

Bonus: Document Your Journey

Start a journal, blog, or vlog to capture your progress. Reflecting on your achievements and challenges will motivate you and inspire others to take on their own Martial Arts bucket list. Tag us on socials so we can share your progress and inspire others to join in the journey!

The beauty of Martial Arts lies in its endless opportunities for growth. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned practitioner, there’s always something new to learn and try. So, what’s on your Martial Arts bucket list for 2025? Let’s make this year one for the books – step outside your comfort zone, embrace the challenge and enjoy the journey. You’ve got this!

I never had to come up with any excuses of what why when or where cuz I have mindset which I still do to this day to be just as effective and sufficient and skillful as possible to this day I am just as physically and mentally sharp and as vigilant as I have ever been and that’s something that will always be a part of me and that’s something that I will always take pride in and be proud of who I did and for what I had to do for my country and I will never change a note for anyone This is two things about me I fear no one except for the man upstairs intimidation is definitely not in my vocabulary God bless and be safe and stay vigilant
